Newsletter. If you subscribe, the following is stored: your email address, the IP address used at signup, and the time you subscribed and confirmed. Subscription uses double opt-in: nothing is sent until you click the confirmation link in your inbox. Legal basis: your consent. You can withdraw it any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.
Email open tracking. Newsletter emails contain a small invisible image that records whether the email was opened. This is used for one purpose only: knowing whether the emails are actually being read, so inactive addresses can be cleaned from the list. If you prefer not to be tracked, block image loading in your email app; the emails work fine without it.
Contact form and email. If you write through the Say Hello page or directly by email, your name, email address, and message are used to reply to you. Nothing else. Legal basis: legitimate interest in answering the people who write.
Analytics. With your consent (the cookie banner), Google Analytics collects anonymous usage data: pages viewed, approximate location, browser type, how you found the site. If you click Reject, analytics never loads. Legal basis: your consent.
This site sets:
You can change your mind any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser; the banner will ask again on your next visit.
No data is ever sold, traded, or rented. Two service providers process data on this site's behalf: Hostinger (web and email hosting) and Google (analytics, only after consent). Both operate under GDPR data processing terms.
Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe. After unsubscribing, only the minimum needed to honour the opt-out is retained. Contact messages: as long as needed to handle the conversation. Analytics: up to 14 months, per Google Analytics settings.
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you can ask at any time to: access the data held about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, receive a copy of it, or withdraw consent. Email upagainstit@zerowic.com and it will be handled personally, usually within days, at most within the month the law allows. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
The site runs over HTTPS. Confirmation and unsubscribe links use hashed tokens, so even a database leak could not be used to forge them. Reasonable technical measures protect everything else. No system is perfect; this one is kept deliberately small so there is little to leak.
Pages link to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Linktree. Their privacy practices are their own; this policy ends where their sites begin.
If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new effective date. No silent edits.
